Ge Kiln is one of China's legendary Five Great Kilns of the Song Dynasty — alongside Ru, Guan, Ding, and Jun. Its defining characteristic is the crackle glaze (开片纹): a network of fine, irregular fissures that form naturally as the glaze cools at a different rate than the clay body beneath it.
